Neue Plak Condensed Ultra Light

Neue Plak Condensed Ultra Light is a sophisticated revival and expansion of Paul Renner’s original 1928 wood type design, Plak. Developed by designers Linda Hintz and Toshi Omagari for Monotype, this font family transforms the industrial, rugged nature of the original poster type into a versatile, high-performance digital system. The Condensed Ultra Light weight specifically features incredibly thin strokes and a narrow stance, offering a sleek, architectural quality that is both modern and authoritative.

This typeface stands out for its uniquely large x-height and open counters, which ensure that even in its most condensed and thinnest forms, the letterforms remain distinct. Its heritage in German poster design is evident in its bold structural choices, while its contemporary refinement makes it a favorite for high-fashion editorial work, corporate branding, and minimalist digital interfaces where elegance and space efficiency are paramount.
