Neue Plak Extended Semi Bold

Neue Plak is a expansive and modern revival of the classic 1928 wood type design 'Plak' originally created by Paul Renner, the legendary designer of Futura. This contemporary iteration, developed by Toshi Omagari and Linda Hintz at Monotype, significantly broadens the original condensed family into a versatile system of 60 weights. The Extended Semi Bold weight offers a powerful, wide stance that retains the distinctive modernist grit and unique personality of Renner's original vision while meeting the demands of high-resolution digital environments.

This specific variant is characterized by its robust horizontal presence and large x-height, making it an exceptional choice for authoritative headlines and bold branding projects. Unlike traditional grotesque fonts, Neue Plak Extended Semi Bold features unusual letterforms and open counters that provide a sophisticated, almost architectural aesthetic. It bridges the gap between historical German design and modern global utility, ensuring it stands out in both print and interactive media.
