Neue Plak Semi Bold

Neue Plak Semi Bold is a modern reimagining of the classic Plak typeface originally designed by Paul Renner in 1928. While Renner is most famous for Futura, Plak was his contribution to the world of wood type, specifically designed for posters with its distinctive narrow proportions and heavy weights. This contemporary version, released by Monotype, expands the limited original family into a versatile system that retains the industrial spirit of the German grotesk tradition while offering refined curves for digital screens.

The Semi Bold weight acts as a bridge between high-impact display usage and functional text. It features the signature large x-height and open counters that define the Neue Plak family, providing a look that is both authoritative and approachable. Whether used in its compressed or standard widths, this font maintains a high level of legibility and a unique personality that sets it apart from more ubiquitous sans-serifs like Helvetica or Arial.
