Neue Plak Text Black Italic

Neue Plak is a sophisticated revival and expansion of the original Plak typeface designed by Paul Renner, the legendary creator of Futura. Released by the Monotype Studio in 2018, designers Linda Hintz and Toshi Omagari meticulously researched the original wood type specimens to create a massive system that bridges the gap between early 20th-century German industrialism and modern digital needs. The Text subfamily specifically addresses the need for legibility at smaller sizes while retaining the characteristic quirks of its ancestor.

The Black Italic weight of Neue Plak Text is a powerhouse of visual weight and forward momentum. It features a robust, heavy stroke that remains remarkably clear due to its large x-height and open counters. This specific variant is designed to provide high-impact emphasis within editorial contexts or branding projects, blending a geometric foundation with a sleek, contemporary slant that feels both authoritative and high-end.
