Neue Plak Text Bold Italic

Neue Plak Text Bold Italic is a contemporary revival and massive expansion of Paul Renner’s original 1928 wood-type design, Plak. Developed by Linda Hintz and Toshi Omagari for Monotype, this typeface breathes new life into the historic design by adding a vast range of weights and widths. While Renner is best known for the geometric Futura, Neue Plak offers a more industrial and robust aesthetic, making it an ideal choice for designers seeking a balance between vintage character and modern functionality.

The Text subfamily of the Neue Plak system is specifically engineered for high legibility in smaller point sizes. The Bold Italic weight provides a striking contrast and dynamic slant that is perfect for highlighting key information within dense body copy or creating sophisticated hierarchy in complex layouts. Its wide apertures and clean lines ensure that the font remains sharp and readable across both high-resolution digital screens and traditional print media.
