Neutraface Text Light Italic

Neutraface Text Light Italic is a distinguished member of the Neutraface family, designed by Christian Schwartz for House Industries. Released in 2002, this typeface is a result of an extensive study of the architectural lettering and principles of the legendary modernist architect Richard Neutra. While the Display weights were modeled after Neutra's iconic commercial signage, the Text version was specifically engineered to maintain legibility and aesthetic integrity in long-form reading and smaller point sizes.

The Light Italic variant combines the geometric precision of Mid-Century Modernism with a graceful slant that adds a sense of movement and sophistication. It features a large x-height and open apertures, making it highly readable. It is frequently chosen by designers for high-end editorial layouts, architectural monographs, and corporate identities that require a balance between historical reference and contemporary professionalism.
