The NFL Detroit Lions Regular font is a custom-designed typeface introduced during the team's significant brand overhaul in 2017. Developed in partnership with Rare Design and Nike, the typography was crafted to reflect the modern, aggressive spirit of the franchise while paying homage to the sleek lines of Detroit's automotive history. The letterforms feature sharp, angular terminals and a heavy weight that ensures high visibility on the field, specifically for player names and jersey numbers.

This typeface is part of a larger visual identity system that includes the iconic Honolulu Blue and Silver color palette. While it is technically a proprietary display font, its unique slab-serif characteristics and bold presence have made it a favorite among sports enthusiasts and graphic designers looking to replicate the professional aesthetic of the National Football League. It serves as a powerful tool for consistency across digital media, stadium signage, and official team merchandise.
