Nintendo Switch UI Regular

The Nintendo Switch UI Regular font is a clean, highly legible sans-serif typeface specifically designed for the user interface of the Nintendo Switch console. Introduced in 2017 with the launch of the hardware, it prioritizes clarity and accessibility across various screen sizes, from the handheld's compact display to large 4K televisions. The font is largely a customized derivative of the UD Shin Go typeface family developed by the renowned Japanese foundry Morisawa, which was optimized specifically for digital screens and universal design standards.

Its design features open apertures and a generous x-height, which ensures that text remains sharp even at low resolutions or small point sizes. While primarily functional, the typeface carries the distinct, modern aesthetic associated with Nintendo’s current branding—balancing a professional, streamlined look with a touch of approachable playfulness. It has become an iconic part of the modern gaming experience, used consistently in system menus, settings, and official Nintendo applications to maintain a unified visual identity.
