Noto Sans CJK TC Demi Light

Noto Sans CJK TC Demi Light is a specialized weight within the comprehensive Noto font family, which was developed as a collaborative effort between Google and Adobe (where it is known as Source Han Sans). The "TC" stands for Traditional Chinese, with the glyphs specifically designed to adhere to the orthographic standards used in Taiwan and Hong Kong. This typeface was created to eliminate "tofu"—the empty rectangles that appear when a system lacks a font for a specific character—ensuring a seamless reading experience across all of Unicode.

The Demi Light weight provides a sophisticated aesthetic that sits between Light and Regular, offering a clean and modern appearance that is highly legible in both print and digital formats. Its sans-serif design features balanced stroke weights and open counters, making it an excellent choice for complex Hanzi characters. Because it is released under the SIL Open Font License, it has become a global standard for developers and designers requiring high-quality, multilingual typography that supports Traditional Chinese alongside Latin, Greek, and Cyrillic scripts.
