OFL Sorts Mill Goudy TT Regular

OFL Sorts Mill Goudy TT Regular is a faithful digital revival of Frederic Goudy's Goudy Old Style, a masterpiece of American type design first released in 1915. Barry Schwartz developed this version as part of the Sorts Mill project to provide a high-quality, open-source alternative that captures the warm, organic feel of Goudy’s original hand-lettered aesthetics. The typeface is celebrated for its unique features, such as the diamond-shaped tittles on the lowercase 'i' and 'j' and the upward-curving ear of the 'g', which lend a humanistic touch to digital text.

This typeface is highly regarded for its high legibility and classical elegance, making it a staple for traditional book publishing and high-end editorial design. By adhering to the SIL Open Font License, it ensures that the legacy of Frederic Goudy remains accessible to modern designers. Whether used for body copy or scholarly journals, the font provides a sense of history and sophistication that few modern serifs can replicate.
