Old London Alternate Regular

Old London Alternate Regular is a distinguished blackletter typeface created by the prolific typographer Dieter Steffmann. Drawing heavy inspiration from classic 18th-century English gothic scripts, this font captures the essence of medieval calligraphy with its sharp, angular strokes and ornate flourishes. It serves as a digital revival of the traditional Old English style, meticulously crafted to bring a sense of historical authority and artisanal craftsmanship to modern digital layouts.

The 'Alternate' version specifically offers subtle variations in character forms, providing designers with additional flexibility when creating authentic-looking historical documents or decorative titles. As a staple in the gothic typography scene, it has become a go-to choice for projects requiring a vintage, majestic, or dramatic aesthetic. Whether used for certificates, heavy metal branding, or cinematic posters, its timeless appeal ensures it remains a favorite in the contemporary design toolkit.
