P22 Mackinac ExtraBold Italic

P22 Mackinac Pro, designed by the talented Michael Gills, is a sophisticated serif family that captures a unique balance between historical humanist forms and a rugged, outdoorsy spirit. Inspired by the natural beauty and heritage of the Mackinac region, this typeface family offers four weights with corresponding italics. The ExtraBold Italic weight is particularly distinctive, featuring flowing, rhythmic strokes and a heavy presence that remains warm and approachable rather than aggressive.

This typeface stands out in the contemporary digital landscape due to its soft edges and organic construction, moving away from the stark geometric precision of many modern serifs. Its high x-height and open counters ensure that even in its heaviest ExtraBold form, the font maintains clarity and elegance. It has become a staple for designers who require a typeface that conveys a sense of reliability, craftsmanship, and timeless style for both print and digital environments.
