P22 Mackinac Medium Italic SC

P22 Mackinac Medium Italic SC is a sophisticated serif typeface designed by Michael Gills and released through the P22 Type Foundry. This font family draws inspiration from the classic Old Style proportions and the humanistic traditions of 15th-century Venetian printers, blending historical elegance with modern digital clarity. The Medium Italic Small Caps variant provides a unique typographic texture, offering a rhythmic flow and a refined aesthetic that bridges the gap between traditional book faces and contemporary display type.

Characterized by its generous x-height and softly rounded serifs, P22 Mackinac excels in long-form readability and decorative applications alike. The inclusion of small caps in the italic weights allows designers to create complex hierarchy and elegant subheadings without the visual jarring of full capitals. Its versatile nature makes it a staple for high-end publishing, boutique branding, and any project requiring a touch of scholarly prestige and timeless character.
