P22 Mackinac Pro ExtraBold Italic

P22 Mackinac Pro is a distinguished serif typeface family designed by Michael Gills that pays homage to the classic Venetian typefaces of the 15th and 16th centuries. The family spans four weights and includes corresponding italics, offering a versatile range of expression from subtle text to bold display. The ExtraBold Italic weight specifically combines the sturdiness of a heavy weight with the rhythmic, calligraphic flow of a classic italic, making it an excellent choice for authoritative yet approachable design work.

Throughout the design process, Gills focused on maintaining a high level of legibility while imbuing the letterforms with a warm, humanistic personality. This font family is well-regarded for its timeless quality, bridging the gap between historical old-style traditions and contemporary typographic needs. It includes a wide array of OpenType features, such as small caps and multiple numeral sets, ensuring it meets the professional standards required for complex editorial and branding projects.
