Product Sans Black Regular

Product Sans Black Regular is a geometric sans-serif typeface created by the in-house design team at Google. Introduced in late 2015 as part of a massive brand overhaul, the font was designed to replace the previous serif logo with a more modern, approachable, and scalable identity. It draws heavy inspiration from schoolbook printing styles but is refined through mathematical precision and geometric purity, resulting in a clean and highly legible aesthetic.

The Black weight offers a dense, powerful presence that maintains the signature circular proportions of the original typeface family. While it is widely recognized as the foundation of Google's visual language across products like Android and Search, the design itself remains distinct for its minimalist terminals and lack of traditional serifs. It is primarily intended for display use where a bold, corporate, and friendly tone is required.
