Prologue Medium Italic

Prologue is a contemporary serif typeface family designed by Jakob Runge and Nils Thomsen of TypeMates. It was created with the intention of blending the classic structural features of Dutch type design with modern digital requirements. The Medium Italic weight offers a sophisticated balance between legibility and character, featuring a distinct slant that emphasizes its calligraphic roots while maintaining a clean, professional aesthetic suitable for high-end typesetting.

The development of Prologue focused on versatility across various media, from high-quality editorial prints to high-resolution screens. It features a high x-height and open counters, making it particularly effective for long-form reading. The italic variants are especially noteworthy for their elegant curves and rhythmic flow, providing a graceful contrast to the sturdy upright styles within the broader family and ensuring that it stands out in both display and body text applications.
