Qatar2022 Arabic Book is a custom-designed typeface commissioned for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The font draws heavy inspiration from traditional Arabic calligraphy and the rhythmic flow of the Kashida—the elongated stroke used to connect characters in the Arabic script. It was crafted to bridge the gap between historical Middle Eastern heritage and the high-energy, modern atmosphere of a global sporting event.
The typeface features distinctive fluid curves and sharp, geometric terminals that echo the architecture of the Qatari stadiums and the iconic symbols of the tournament. The Book weight is specifically refined for improved legibility in editorial layouts and digital interfaces, ensuring that the brand's unique identity remains clear across diverse platforms, from broadcast graphics to commemorative publications.
