Risque Regular is a whimsical and off-kilter serif typeface designed by Brian J. Bonislawsky of Astigmatic. It draws its primary inspiration from the title card of the 1938 film The Shining Hour, capturing a unique blend of vintage elegance and playful spontaneity. The font's letterforms feature irregular weights and heights, giving it a handcrafted, animated quality that stands out remarkably in display settings.

This typeface is particularly effective for projects that require a touch of retro charm and personality. Its bouncy baseline and decorative serifs make it an excellent choice for children's books, festive invitations, and quirky branding. As an open-source font, Risque has become a popular choice for web designers looking to inject a sense of fun and lightheartedness into their layouts without sacrificing character.
