Rotis Semi Sans Std Regular

Rotis Semi Sans Std Regular was designed by the renowned German graphic designer Otl Aicher in 1988. This typeface belongs to a larger typographic superfamily named after Rotis, the village in Germany where Aicher lived and worked. The Semi Sans variant was meticulously crafted to serve as a bridge between traditional serif and modern sans-serif styles, featuring subtle tapering at the stroke terminals that suggests a humanist, calligraphic influence without the use of full serifs.

The font is celebrated for its intellectual clarity and modernist aesthetic, making it a staple in high-end corporate identities and architectural projects. Its unique proportions and consistent stroke weights provide an elegant, professional look that remains highly legible across both print and digital mediums. As part of a four-family system—including Serif, Semi Serif, and Sans—it allows for versatile typographic pairings while maintaining a unified visual language.
