Sagona Book Italic

Sagona Book Italic is a sophisticated contemporary slab serif typeface designed by René Bieder. Released as part of the broader Sagona family, it draws heavy inspiration from the sturdy Clarendon models of the 19th century while incorporating modern geometric refinements. The Book Italic weight provides a graceful, rhythmic flow that balances the inherent strength of slab serifs with an elegant, cursive-like quality, making it ideal for continuous text settings that require a touch of personality.

This typeface stands out due to its high legibility and versatile character, performing exceptionally well in both print and digital environments. The Sagona Book Italic features unique teardrop terminals and open counters that ensure clarity even at smaller point sizes. Whether used for editorial design, branding, or sophisticated web typography, this font offers a timeless aesthetic that bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary digital design requirements.
