Sagona Semi Bold

Sagona Semi Bold is a sophisticated contemporary slab serif typeface designed by Rene Bieder. It draws heavy inspiration from the 19th-century Clarendon models, featuring distinct bracketed serifs and a high x-height that ensures excellent legibility. This specific weight occupies a sweet spot in the family, offering enough substance to command attention while maintaining the graceful proportions necessary for modern editorial and corporate environments.

The design of Sagona Semi Bold reflects a meticulous balance between historical charm and functional modernism. Its sturdy horizontal strokes and rhythmic letterforms make it particularly effective for long-form reading in digital formats as well as high-impact print applications. By refining the classic slab serif aesthetic, Bieder has created a versatile tool that bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary digital design requirements.
