Scamp FB Fat Regular

Scamp FB Fat Regular is a distinctive display typeface designed by David Berlow for the Font Bureau in 1993. It was created to capture the raw, unpolished energy of hand-painted brush lettering, featuring gritty textures and irregular strokes that suggest a sense of urgency and spontaneity. The Fat weight specifically emphasizes these characteristics, making it an excellent choice for bold, attention-grabbing headlines that require a human touch rather than digital perfection.

Throughout its history, Scamp has been a favorite for designers looking to break away from the clean lines of traditional typography. Its hand-drawn aesthetic makes it particularly suitable for posters, packaging, and branding projects that aim for a DIY or underground vibe. Despite its rugged appearance, the font maintains a surprising degree of legibility, allowing it to function effectively in various advertising and editorial contexts where personality is paramount.
