Shojumaru Regular

Shojumaru Regular is a stylized display typeface inspired by the aesthetic of traditional Japanese woodblock prints and calligraphy. It captures the essence of Kantei-ryu, a style of lettering traditionally used in Kabuki theatre, featuring bold, flowing, and tightly packed strokes that suggest energy and movement.

The font was developed by Astigmatic (Brian J. Bonislawsky) and is part of the Google Fonts collection. Its dramatic weight and rhythmic shapes make it highly effective for large-scale applications where a cultural or oriental flair is required, while maintaining distinct legibility in headline contexts.
