Söhne Halbfett Regular

Söhne Halbfett Regular is part of the widely acclaimed Söhne family, designed by Kris Sowersby and released through the Klim Type Foundry. It is described as the "memory of Akzidenz-Grotesk adapted for the digital age," specifically capturing the aesthetic of the standard typeface used in the New York City Subway system signage. The typeface bridges the gap between mid-century Swiss modernism and the functional requirements of contemporary digital platforms, offering a refined yet utilitarian look.

The Halbfett weight, which translates to "Semi-bold" in German, provides a robust and authoritative presence while maintaining the clarity and rhythm characteristic of the entire family. Its tight apertures and precise kerning make it an exceptional choice for designers seeking a typeface that feels both historical and futuristic. It is frequently utilized in high-end editorial work and global branding initiatives due to its neutral yet distinct personality.
