Söhne Mono Extraleicht Italic

Söhne Mono Extraleicht Italic is a sophisticated monospaced typeface from the Klim Type Foundry, designed by the renowned Kris Sowersby. It represents the monospaced evolution of the Söhne family, which was inspired by the iconic Akzidenz-Grotesk and the functional signage found in the New York City Subway. The 'Extraleicht' (Extra Light) weight combined with the Italic slant provides a delicate, airy, and high-fashion feel to the otherwise rigid structure of a fixed-width font.

The typeface is celebrated for its ability to capture the essence of 'Standard' typography while adapting it for modern digital environments. Söhne Mono is often the choice for designers who want to bridge the gap between technical utility and Swiss-style elegance. The Italic variant is specifically crafted to maintain legibility at small sizes, making it an excellent choice for complex editorial layouts, coding environments, and minimalist branding projects that require a touch of humanistic flair.
