Söhne Schmal Extraleicht Regular

Söhne Schmal Extraleicht Regular is a sophisticated distillation of the iconic Akzidenz-Grotesk, capturing the utilitarian essence of the New York City Subway's signage for the digital era. Created by the Klim Type Foundry, the 'Schmal' variant offers a condensed width that maintains structural integrity while maximizing space efficiency. The 'Extraleicht' (Extra Light) weight provides a delicate, hairline-thin aesthetic that brings an air of elegance and precision to modern layouts.

This typeface is part of a larger system designed to be the ultimate 'standard' sans-serif, offering a neutral tone that adapts to its context. The Schmal Extraleicht Regular is particularly praised for its refined craftsmanship, featuring tight apertures and a high x-height that ensures clarity even at its most slender weight. It is a preferred choice for designers who demand a minimalist, Swiss-inspired look with a contemporary technical edge.
