Söhne Schmal Fett Regular

Söhne Schmal Fett Regular is a powerhouse weight within the broader Söhne collection, designed by the celebrated Kris Sowersby of Klim Type Foundry. It represents the condensed, bold evolution of the family, drawing its primary inspiration from Akzidenz-Grotesk and the functionalist history of the New York City Subway signage system. The typeface captures the essence of early industrial sans-serifs, blending mechanical precision with a humanist warmth that prevents it from feeling sterile in modern digital environments.

The "Schmal" (Condensed) and "Fett" (Bold) attributes make this specific cut ideal for high-impact communication where horizontal space is at a premium. By refining the proportions of classic neo-grotesques, Söhne Schmal Fett offers a sophisticated aesthetic that is both timeless and contemporary. Its robust construction ensures that it maintains exceptional legibility and visual weight, making it a favorite for designers seeking a professional, authoritative tone in their typography.
