Söhne Schmal Halbfett Italic

Söhne Schmal Halbfett Italic is a refined condensed weight within the Söhne family, crafted by the acclaimed Kris Sowersby of Klim Type Foundry. It represents a meticulous evolution of the 'Standard' typeface used in mid-century Swiss design, specifically channeling the soul of Akzidenz-Grotesk. This specific iteration, the 'Schmal' (condensed) version, is designed to provide high impact in narrow spaces, making it a powerhouse for modern typographic layouts that require both strength and efficiency.

The Halbfett Italic weight offers a semi-bold, slanted stance that introduces a dynamic rhythm to the page. It maintains the structural integrity and neutral clarity of its parent family while providing the necessary weight for hierarchy and emphasis. Its design focuses on balanced counters and precise terminal cuts, ensuring that even in its condensed and italicized form, it remains exceptionally legible and aesthetically sophisticated for both high-end digital interfaces and premium print editorial work.
