Stag Sans Regular

Stag Sans Regular was developed by Christian Schwartz, with contributions from Berton Hasebe, as a companion to the slab serif version, Stag. Originally commissioned by Esquire magazine to provide a more diverse typographic palette for their layouts, the typeface was later released for general use through Commercial Type. It retains the same structural foundations as the original slab serif, but removes the heavy blocks to reveal a sleek, modern sans-serif profile.

This typeface is celebrated for its unique blend of industrial strength and organic warmth. While many sans-serifs lean toward a cold, geometric feel, Stag Sans incorporates rounded terminals and distinct letterforms that give it a friendly yet authoritative character. It has since become a staple in editorial design and corporate branding projects that require a font with both personality and high legibility across various media formats.
