Sweden Extended Bold

Sweden Extended Bold is a prominent weight within the Sweden Sans type family, a custom typeface commissioned by the Swedish Institute and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs to establish a cohesive visual identity for the nation. Created by the Stockholm-based agency Söderhavet in collaboration with renowned typographer Stefan Hattenbach, the font is inspired by the heritage of Swedish signage and functionalist design. Its extended proportions and thick, deliberate strokes are meticulously crafted to embody the core values of Swedish modernism: clarity, accessibility, and high-quality craftsmanship.

The Extended Bold variant is specifically engineered for high-impact communication where presence and authority are required. It bridges the gap between a classic geometric sans-serif and a contemporary corporate face, offering exceptional legibility even at large scales. This typeface has become an iconic representation of Scandinavian aesthetics in the digital age, utilized across various mediums from official government websites to international tourism campaigns, ensuring that the visual voice of Sweden remains both timeless and forward-thinking.
