Sweden Extended Normal

Sweden Extended Normal is a refined sans-serif typeface developed as part of the official brand identity for the nation of Sweden. Created by the agency Söderhavet in collaboration with renowned type designer Stefan Hattenbach, the font was designed to reflect Swedish values of openness, innovation, and functionality. The 'Extended' variation offers a broader, more horizontal stance compared to the standard weights, providing a distinctively modern and cinematic feel to typographic layouts.

The typeface is built on geometric proportions with a focus on extreme legibility and minimalist aesthetics, which are core tenets of Scandinavian design history. Its clean lines and balanced spacing make it highly versatile for both digital interfaces and high-end print media. Because it was born from a national branding project, the font carries an inherent sense of authority and clarity, making it a favorite for designers seeking a sophisticated yet understated look.
