Times Cirilica Bold Italic

Times Cirilica Bold Italic is a specialized variant of the legendary Times New Roman typeface family, which was originally commissioned by the British newspaper The Times in 1931. This specific version was developed to extend the classic serif aesthetic to the Cyrillic script, ensuring that the same level of legibility and authority found in Western typography was available for Slavic languages. The typeface maintains the traditional high-contrast strokes and sharp serifs that have made the family a global standard in publishing.

The Bold Italic weight and style combination offers a unique calligraphic flair, blending the strength of bold strokes with the elegant, slanted rhythm of italics. It is particularly effective for emphasizing text within dense editorial layouts or for creating formal headings. Because of its efficient character spacing and clear letterforms, it remains a primary choice for academic journals, legal documentation, and traditional print media across Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
