Times New Normal Regular

Times New Normal Regular is a refined iteration of the classic serif typeface originally commissioned by the British newspaper The Times in 1931. Conceptualized by Stanley Morison and drawn by Victor Lardent, this typeface was specifically engineered to provide exceptional legibility and economy of space within the constraints of newspaper columns. Its design features sharp serifs and a robust structure that ensures clarity even under high-speed printing conditions, making it an enduring masterpiece of functional typography.

The Regular weight of this font has transitioned seamlessly from the era of hot metal typesetting to the digital desktop, becoming perhaps the most ubiquitous serif in history. It is characterized by its high contrast between thick and thin strokes and its balanced x-height, which together create a formal, authoritative, and traditional aesthetic. Whether used in high-end editorial layouts or standard office documentation, Times New Normal Regular remains the global benchmark for professional and academic communication.
