Twentieth Century for Kenmore Regular

Twentieth Century was designed by Sol Hess between 1937 and 1947 as a geometric sans-serif for the Lanston Monotype Machine Company. Created as a direct rival to the popular Futura, it follows the Bauhaus-inspired aesthetic of clean lines, mathematical precision, and minimalist forms. This specific variant, Twentieth Century for Kenmore, represents a specialized implementation of the typeface often associated with corporate branding and product labeling, maintaining the original's geometric integrity.

The typeface is characterized by its perfectly circular 'O', sharp vertices, and consistent stroke weights, which give it a timeless and modern appeal. It has been widely utilized in mid-century advertising, appliance manufacturing, and architectural signage due to its exceptional legibility and sophisticated appearance. As a classic of 20th-century typography, it remains a premier choice for designers looking to evoke a sense of efficiency, clarity, and industrial elegance.
