Univers 93 Extra Black Extended Regular

Univers 93 Extra Black Extended Regular is a masterpiece of Swiss modernist design, originally conceived by the legendary Adrian Frutiger in 1954 and released in 1957. As part of the revolutionary Univers family, it was one of the first typefaces to be designed as a systematic grid of weights and widths, utilizing a unique numbering system to categorize its various iterations. This systematic approach ensured that all members of the family shared a consistent visual DNA while offering designers a wide range of expressive possibilities.

The specific variant 93 denotes the extreme end of the scale: it is both extra black in weight and extended in width. This results in incredibly dense, powerful letterforms with minimal counter-space, making it a favorite for high-impact display typography. Whether used in massive advertising campaigns or bold corporate identities, Univers 93 commands attention with its geometric precision and timeless, authoritative aesthetic.
