Verdana Gras

Verdana Gras is the bold weight of the iconic Verdana typeface family, commissioned by Microsoft and released in 1996. Designed by the renowned type designer Matthew Carter, with hand-hinting by Tom Rickner, it was specifically created to address the challenges of on-screen display on low-resolution monitors. The design features a large x-height, wide proportions, and generous letter-spacing, which work together to ensure that characters remain distinct and readable even at very small sizes.

The Verdana Gras variant provides a robust visual weight that maintains the clarity of the original design.
