Bodoni Moda 18pt Black Italic

Bodoni Moda is a digital-first revival of the classic Didone typefaces originally pioneered by Giambattista Bodoni in the late 18th century. This typeface family is designed to meet the demands of modern high-fashion and luxury branding, characterized by its extreme contrast between thick and thin strokes, vertical stress, and clean, unbracketed serifs. The 18pt optical size is specifically engineered to ensure that the delicate hairlines remain visible and elegant at medium display sizes, bridging the gap between text and large headlines.

The Black Italic weight of Bodoni Moda 18pt offers a powerful, high-impact aesthetic combined with a sophisticated cursive slant. This specific variation captures the drama and opulence of traditional metal type while providing the flexibility of modern digital typography. As an open-source project, it represents one of the most comprehensive and accessible versions of Bodoni available, featuring a wide range of characters and refined kerning for professional-grade editorial design.
