Bodoni Moda 72pt Black Italic

Bodoni Moda is a sophisticated revival of the iconic 18th-century serif designs by Giambattista Bodoni. Created by Owen Earl of indestructible type*, this typeface is an optical-size variable font project designed to bring the elegance of Didone typography into the digital age. The 72pt Black Italic variation is specifically engineered for large-scale display use, where its razor-thin hairlines and heavy stems create the dramatic, high-contrast aesthetic that has defined luxury for centuries.

The development of Bodoni Moda focuses on historical accuracy while providing modern flexibility. Unlike standard digital cuts, the 72pt optical sizing ensures that at large dimensions, the delicate strokes remain visible yet sharp, preventing the 'dazzle' effect common in inferior Bodoni revivals. The Black Italic weight offers a powerful, leaning stance that conveys both authority and grace, making it a primary choice for high-fashion editorial work and premium branding identities.
