Bodoni Moda 72pt Regular

Bodoni Moda 72pt Regular is a contemporary digital revival of the classic Didone typefaces originally created by Giambattista Bodoni in the late 18th century. Developed by Owen Earl, this typeface is part of a larger variable font project designed to adapt to the rigors of modern digital screens while maintaining the extreme contrast and elegance of the historical source material. The 72pt optical size is specifically engineered for large display settings, featuring razor-thin hairlines and bold vertical strokes that epitomize the 'modern' serif classification.

As a hallmark of the Didone style, Bodoni Moda 72pt Regular excels in environments where luxury and sophistication are paramount. By optimizing the glyphs for large-scale use, the designer ensured that the delicate serifs do not disappear at high resolutions, making it a superior choice for high-fashion branding and editorial headers. Its release under the Open Font License has made it a favorite among designers seeking the prestige of Bodoni without the limitations of traditional digital licensing.
