Cobalt Bold Italic

Cobalt Bold Italic is a dynamic and high-impact typeface originally designed by Michael Gills. Released in the mid-1990s, it was crafted to bridge the gap between industrial strength and modern elegance. The typeface features a large x-height and distinctive angular cuts, providing a sense of unwavering stability and professional polish that works exceptionally well in high-resolution environments.

The Bold Italic variant is particularly noted for its aggressive slant and forward-leaning posture, making it an excellent choice for designs that require a sense of speed, motion, or urgency. It has become a staple in automotive marketing and athletic branding due to its high legibility even at large scales and its commanding presence on both digital screens and physical print media.
