DaxCompact Bold

DaxCompact Bold is a prominent member of the Dax typeface family, originally developed by Swiss designer Hans-Jürg Hunziker. The typeface was conceived as a humanist sans-serif that balances a technical, modern aesthetic with high legibility. The Compact variant specifically addresses the need for space-saving layouts, offering a condensed profile without sacrificing the character and fluidity of the original strokes.

This typeface gained significant popularity in the late 1990s and early 2000s, becoming a staple for high-profile corporate identities and editorial projects. Its distinctive spurs and open counters make it highly recognizable. DaxCompact Bold is particularly effective in headers and promotional materials where impact and clarity are paramount, especially when horizontal space is at a premium.
