Druk Wide Heavy Italic

Druk Wide Heavy Italic is a powerhouse of modern typography, designed by Berton Hasebe and released through the Commercial Type foundry in 2014. Originally conceived for Bloomberg Businessweek, the Druk family was engineered to provide extreme expressive range within editorial layouts. The Wide Heavy Italic variant pushes the horizontal boundaries of the sans-serif form to their limits, offering an uncompromisingly bold and authoritative presence that dominates any visual space it occupies.

Unlike traditional grotesque typefaces, Druk Wide Heavy Italic intentionally omits common optical corrections, resulting in a raw, structural look that feels both industrial and sophisticated. The 'Heavy Italic' style introduces a dynamic sense of motion and urgency to the wide proportions, making it an essential tool for high-impact headlines, brutalist graphic design, and modern branding projects that require a loud, unmistakable voice.
