EquitanSans-Italic Italic

Equitan Sans Italic is a sophisticated humanist sans-serif typeface designed by Dieter Hofrichter and released through the Hoftype foundry. As part of the extensive Equitan superfamily, this italic variant stands out for its graceful, rhythmic flow and calligraphic undertones. It was crafted to provide a harmonious companion to the upright weights, ensuring that transitions between Roman and Italic styles remain seamless and visually coherent across complex typographic layouts.

The font features open counters and a generous x-height, which significantly improves legibility at smaller point sizes. Its design philosophy balances mechanical precision with a warm, organic feel, making it suitable for a wide array of professional applications. Whether used for body copy in high-end magazines or as part of a corporate identity system, Equitan Sans Italic delivers a clear and authoritative voice with a subtle touch of elegance.
