Fontin Bold

Fontin Bold is a professional serif typeface crafted by Jos Buivenga of the exljbris font foundry. Originally designed to be highly legible at small sizes, the Fontin family is characterized by a high x-height, short descenders, and elegant, open counters. The Bold weight was specifically developed to provide a strong visual hierarchy while maintaining the smooth, flowing curves and distinctive serifs that define the family's identity.

Since its release, Fontin Bold has become a staple in the design community due to its unique combination of classical proportions and modern digital optimization. It was famously released under a free-for-commercial-use license, making it one of the most widely adopted free professional fonts in the world. Its versatility makes it suitable for everything from intricate small print to bold, impactful branding projects.
