Forma DJR UI Italic

Forma DJR UI Italic is a contemporary revival of the 1968 classic Forma, which was originally designed by Aldo Novarese and a team of experts at the Nebiolo foundry. This digital iteration by David Jonathan Ross meticulously captures the "quiet" sophistication of the original neo-grotesque, which was intended to be a more refined and less sterile alternative to Helvetica. The UI version specifically focuses on optimizing the typeface for modern digital screens, featuring adjustments in spacing and proportions that ensure maximum clarity in user interface environments.

The Italic style provides a graceful, slanted companion that maintains the typeface's signature tight letter-spacing and large x-height. By blending mid-century Italian design sensibilities with modern digital requirements, Forma DJR UI Italic offers a versatile solution for designers looking for a sans-serif that is both functional and full of character. It excels in complex information hierarchies where legibility at small sizes is paramount.
