G-OTF リュウミン Pro R-KL Regular

G-OTF Ryumin Pro R-KL is a cornerstone of modern Japanese typography, designed by the renowned typographer Tsutomu Suzuki and released by the Morisawa foundry. It is based on the historic Morikawa Ryubundo typeface, which was carefully refined to adapt to the demands of phototypesetting and eventually digital media. The font is celebrated for its sharp, elegant terminals and balanced proportions, making it a standard-bearer for the Mincho (serif) style in professional Japanese graphic design.

The KL (Kana Large) variation indicates that the Hiragana and Katakana characters are designed slightly larger than the standard version, which enhances visual flow and legibility in long-form text. This specific weight, Regular (R), is optimized for body text in publishing, providing a comfortable reading experience for books, magazines, and official documents. Its timeless aesthetic continues to be a top choice for designers seeking to convey sophistication and tradition in their layouts.
