Goudy Trajan Regular Regular

Goudy Trajan is a classical serif typeface based on the majestic Roman capital letters found on the Trajan Column in Rome. Originally drawn by the legendary American designer Frederic W. Goudy in the 1930s, this font captures the refined, authoritative proportions of ancient imperial inscriptions. Its sharp serifs and distinct contrast between thick and thin strokes make it a staple for high-end typography and formal design applications.

The digital revival of this typeface, particularly the versions by foundries like CastleType, ensures that Goudy's original vision remains accessible for modern designers. While it excels in display settings such as movie posters and book covers, its historical weight and architectural structure provide a sense of timelessness and prestige to any project. It is widely considered a more nuanced and characterful alternative to other Roman-style fonts, maintaining a unique calligraphic touch within its rigid geometric forms.
