Times Europa LT Std Roman Bold

Times Europa LT Std Roman Bold was originally designed by Walter Tracy in 1972 for The Times of London. It was created to replace Times New Roman, specifically to address the evolving technical demands of high-speed newspaper printing and the use of thinner newsprint. The font features a larger x-height, more open counters, and sturdier serifs to ensure maximum legibility even under challenging mechanical conditions.

The Bold weight of this typeface is particularly effective for headlines and emphasized text within dense editorial environments. As part of the Linotype library, it has become a staple for professional publishers who require a robust serif that maintains its clarity across various media. Its balanced proportions and functional aesthetic make it a versatile choice for both historical and modern typographic applications.
