Twentieth Century for Kenmore Bold

Twentieth Century for Kenmore Bold is a distinguished geometric sans-serif typeface originally developed by Sol Hess for Monotype as a direct competitor to Paul Renner's Futura. Created between 1936 and 1947, this specific variant reflects the mid-century industrial aesthetic, characterized by its strict geometric construction and clean, minimalist lines. The 'Kenmore' association stems from its historical application in commercial branding, where its robust weight and clarity were prized for appliance labeling and corporate identity.

The typeface is defined by its nearly perfect circular shapes and sharp, precise vertices, embodying the functionalist principles of the Bauhaus movement. In its Bold weight, the font provides a commanding presence without sacrificing the elegance of its geometric roots. It remains a popular choice for designers seeking a timeless, professional look that bridges the gap between early 20th-century modernism and contemporary digital design.
