Univers LT 45 Light Bold

Univers is one of the most significant typeface achievements of the 20th century, designed by the legendary Swiss typographer Adrian Frutiger between 1954 and 1957. Unlike other typefaces of its time, Univers was conceived as a comprehensive and consistent family from the start, utilizing a unique numerical system to classify its weights and widths. The Univers LT 45 Light variant represents a core weight in this system, offering a delicate balance between clarity and an airy, elegant aesthetic.

The Linotype (LT) version refined the original drawings for digital typesetting, ensuring that the subtle stroke contrasts and optical corrections remained intact. Its neo-grotesque structure is characterized by its objective, rational appearance and high legibility, making it a staple of the Swiss Style of graphic design. This specific light weight provides a sophisticated look that is less dense than the standard Roman weight, making it perfect for modern, minimalist layouts.
